Last Friday, Pastor Jonathan Lim, shared with us during our meeting at New World Park about how to study the Bible in our quiet time. It is by applying the: D. U. A. principal
D - Discover
U - Understand
A - Apply
It basically means, when we read the Bible, we must discover the truth, understand it and then apply it. For example:
Mat 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Mat 5:15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your [26] moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and [27] recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.
Scripture text taken from Matthew 5:14-16 (Amplified)
What we can discover:
We are the light.
Light shines, reveals, chase away darkness, guide
What we can understand:
We are called to shine God's light as it will reveal all things as it chase away the power of darkness around us and guide us and people around in truth and to the truth that will set us free - Jesus
What we can apply:
As the light, in our daily life, are we shinning God's light or what are we in darkness, needing God's light to reveal to us that we need to walk right with God?
Hope that all will benefit from this sharing
